NVIDIA & Gigabyte: GPU Prices Expected Drop by 20%

2018 might finally see the prices of GPUs stabilize thanks to the drop in popularity in mining cryptocurrency. Nvidia and Gigabyte, both major GPU manufacturers loved by gamers and creatives alike, both predict a fall in demand of GPU’s in their latest report.

In their initial report, they say they expected GPU price drops of about 20% by the end of July.

This is most likely due to the drop in the value of mining cryptocurrency as the profit margin of mining has been severely crippled over the past several months. Bitcoin, the largest form of cryptocurrency, has crashed to $6,000 when it was just over $19,000 last December.

This is all music to the ears of anybody relying on a powerful GPU for everything other than mining as they would finally be able to afford a system upgrade.
